きょうは ユミと あそぶ。
Today I'm meeting up with Yumi.
ユミの てがみに にじと ある。
Yumi's letter says two o'clock.
ぼくは にじに えきに いく。
I go to the station at two.
けど、ユミは いない。
But Yumi isn't there.
ぼくは えきで ユミを まつ。
I wait for Yumi at the station.
ぼくの けいたいは いえに ある。でんわは だめだ。
My phone is at home, so calling is out.
さんじ。ユミは まだ こない。
Three o'clock. Yumi still doesn't come.
ぼくは えきの みせで おちゃを のむ。
I have a tea at the station shop.
よじ。ユミは まだ こない。
Four o'clock. Yumi still doesn't come.
ぼくは ユミの てがみを みる。
I look at Yumi's letter.
てがみには にちようびと ある。
The letter says Sunday.
きょうは どようびだ。
Today is Saturday.
それで わかった。
That's when I understood.
あしたは にちようびだ。
Tomorrow is Sunday.
あしたも にじに えきに いく。
Tomorrow I'll go to the station at two again.
