Spanish greetings and polite phrases
These are the first phrases the Spanish course teaches: greetings for each time of day, please and thank you, and the replies you need to get through a first conversation.
Good to know
- Buenos días is used until about midday, buenas tardes in the afternoon, and buenas noches in the evening, both as hello and as goodbye.
- Perdón works as both excuse me and sorry.
- Mucho gusto (nice to meet you) is what you say when you are introduced to someone.
